The research questions that guide this study are: 1) What differences do participants report between classroom learning and using television programs to learn Japanese? 2) What benefits do participants perceive from using Japanese television programs when learning Japanese? 3) What cultural knowledge do participants report acquiring from watching Japanese television programs?
