This research’s participant were 56 students from the Language Faculty at BUAP. In age they ranged from 17 to 44 years old. The purpose of this investigation was to identify the use of reading strategies and their academic performance in the class of research seminary of Thesis I and II. The findings showed a poor use of reading strategies, so a considerable number of students do not know reading strategies, also the most used reading strategies was Problem solving strategies and Global strategies. For further research could be investigate in others school levels the use of reading strategies and investigate if teach it.
