Witten Ulrich, MichaelEscalante Coria, Karina2020-11-202020-11-202015-04https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12371/9135“The present study aims to analyze and describe the most common practices teachers employ at the Centro de Lenguas (CELE) from the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP) in order to promote speaking in the English Foreign Language (EFL) classroom. Such an exploration aims to acquire essential data to know what teachers are doing in the classroom regarding language communication. The present investigation is a descriptive study based on teachers’ information obtained from a survey, with questionnaires being the primary source of data to be analyzed as well as some teachers´ interviews being the second element in order to complement the gathered information. The concept of Communicative Competence (Canale and Swain 1980) is of great relevance in this research due to the fact that its components grammatical competence, sociolinguistic competence, discourse competence and strategic competence represent the basis of communication. Similarly special attention must be paid to the concept of the speaking as skill to understand its implications when this process occurs. In this way, it is necessary to share this data with current and future TESOL teachers in order for them to understand that their teaching practice must consider the essential factors of the communicative process in order to facilitate the practice of the speaking skill in the classroom.”pdfspaHUMANIDADES Y CIENCIAS DE LA CONDUCTAAdquisición de segunda lenguaComunicación oral--Estudio y enseñanzaMaestros de inglés--Capacitación deSociología de la educaciónEnseñanza--MetodologíaActivities and tasks that teachers employ in order to promote the speaking skill with learners at the Centro de Lenguas (CELE) of the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP)Tesis de maestríaInglés habladoopenAccess
