We characterize the dynamics of the intruders and of the granular medium by means of the Mean Square Displacement (MSD) and the effective diffusion coefficient (DE). The structural characteristics of the medium were globally determined by the Radial Distribution Function (RDF) but mainly, the local order was determined by means of the sixthfold bond-orientational order parameter (Ψ′ 6). We carried out three different experiments, the first one for a passive intruder which is moving into the granular media driven by the gravitational forces and the vibration. There, we found that the intruder falls into the zones of less order of the granular medium. At the same time, as it moves throughout the granular medium, it generates significant structural changes in its vicinity. The second experiment was performed under similar conditions but using an active intruder. The active intruder reacts to the structural conditions in the medium and follow trajectories where less structural order is observed”.pdfengCIENCIAS FÍSICO MATEMÁTICAS Y CIENCIAS DE LA TIERRAPartículas (Física nuclear)Materia condensada blandaMateriales granuladosDifusiónActive and passive intruders motion in a granular media subject to vibration and mechanical deformationsTesis de maestríaopenAccess
