Abstract
Description
Frontal lobes maturation begins in childhood and continues into adolescence and early adulthood, it is related with increased abilities in abstract reasoning, attentional shifting, inhibition and processing speed but theses abilitie s are not always consolidated in undergraduate students and would be advisable to include activities that promote their development during school ing . This paper presents an analysi s of the changes observed in executive functions in a sample of 16 college s tudents after having taken a class called Applied Creativity, in which divergent thinking is encouraged. The assessment was performed in a pretest - posttest design using Battery Performance of Executive Functions and Frontal lobes (BANFE). The results indic ated significant differences in the function s of metamemory, figurative and abstract understanding, all of them related with the anterior prefrontal region.
