Clinical nutrition esp course: a need analysis

"Nowadays, in Mexico English as a Second Language (ESL) is not just required for people who want to study a degree related to tourism or teaching, it is also a requirement for people who want to study other major like engineering, medicine, law, psychology, nutrition and so on. Students need to learn the language because most of the updated information about any subject or major is produced in English. Taking into account this, learning a second language throughout any major is necessary for students to use as tool and put it in practice when they need to use the language in their own context, their own business, and their own situations in real life. My interest in this topic relies on knowing what the exact problem is that students face when they learn English as a second language as part from their studies, also I would like to know what are the necessities they have to learn better the language. For that, I believe that English for Specific Purposes might help to find out the answers through this research. This study is focused on clinical nutrition students from Facultad de Medicina at the Benemérita Universidad de Puebla (BUAP)".
