dc.description.abstract"The purpose of this study was to identify the most common secondary students’ disruptive behavior issues faced by English Language Teaching trainees as well as to analyze the causes, explain how it affected their teaching and how they were solved. The study was carried out at a language department of a public university in Mexico. The participants were ELT pre-service teachers that faced disruptive behaviors when they were teaching secondary school students. It was qualitative research and the instruments used to collect data were a questionnaire and a semi-structured interview. The results revealed that most participants faced disruptive behavior problems: noisy students, use of cellphones in class, students ignore the teacher among other. Interestingly, some participants reported that disruptive behavior was a consequence of different factors, for example, lack of teachers and students’ motivation, lack of parents’ attention and lack of teaching strategies. They also shared some strategies they used to prevent disruptive behavior problems. More results and implications are described within this thesis".
