dc.description.abstract"The present research arose from the interest in knowing BUAP students' perspective concerning using tabletop top roleplaying games as a game-based activity to practice speaking. The sample included students from different BUAP faculties who had previously engaged with tabletop roleplaying games in their English classes. The present study followed a qualitative approach to meet objective set by the research and find answers for the research questions. Hence, this study was conducted through an interview, an instrument commonly used for qualitative research. The findings revealed that all the students agreed positively on using tabletop roleplaying games. Furthermore, the participants shared five reasons for which they had a positive outlook on the use of tabletop roleplaying games. The reasons were that said games abate fear and nervousness, create collaboration, aid in learning vocabulary, help practice pronunciation, and improve speaking fluency".
