dc.description.abstract“The aim of this thesis was to explore and identify methods and strategies that can help elementary students in their foreign language learning process in a private school in Puebla, Mexico. This was a qualitative study which used a pretest – intervention – posttest design to detect change in 2nd elementary dyslexic students’ performance associated with the use of materials and teaching methods obtained through crowdsourcing. The participants were selected using a particular test for elementary students that helped this study to remain undisclosed due to the topic’s particularities. This study explored different perspectives of dyslexia as well as successful stories of dyslexics in order to implement the interventions. The central part of this study was focused on the assumption that dyslexia is genetically originated and that it is a condition, not a disease, not a disability. The results were obtained after ten different interventions that were analyzed and registered using a researcher journal. The study includes a reflexive account about pedagogical and theoretical implications followed by recommendations, limitations and possibilities for further research. The results of this research indicate that although there is sufficient information about dyslexia in elementary education in Mexico, there is no protocol to identify dyslexia or adequate approaches to use with dyslexic English elementary school students.”es_MX
