dc.description.abstract"Education in Mexico is suffering a decadence regarding reading comprehension and mathematic abilities, more specifically in basic and upper middle levels. According to several studies such as PISA and ENLACE; 42% of the students do not reach the minimum level of comprehension when reading in L1 and FL. As a result, many of these learners drop off studies very early or just simply do not carry on with further studies, which also leads into a less prepared society that all we share. In the field of languages, it is intended to provide the task and practices that enable students to be aware of the implementation of techniques that help them to overcome these boundaries. Therefore, the following paper regards to the enforcement and use of metacognitive strategies that help students of Sistema de Preparatoria Abierta Puebla to be aware of the techniques that they can adopt to eventually become efficient FL readers and therefore autonomous students able to take care of their learning."es_MX
