dc.description.abstract"This research aims to seek ELT undergraduate students' perceptions of the effectiveness of online learning after their experiences taking virtual classes during the lockdown caused by the pandemic. Furthermore, this study seeks to analyze the consequences on ELT students’ academic performance and learning process when they take virtual classes. The research followed the qualitative method to collect data and interviewed the participants using a 10-question interview. The participants were 10 students of the Licenciatura en la Enseñanza del Inglés, belonging to the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla. They were students from 22 to 23 years old. The participants' responses allow us to analyze which of the main components they detected were the correct ones for their online learning process, the effects this entails, and how virtual classes could affect their academic performance. The research focused on what was the effectiveness of learning during online classes and how much it affected the academic performance of students during online classes that were generated because of the pandemic".
