dc.description.abstract“This thesis reports on qualitative study about how to integrate a blind adult in an elementary English class. This project was carried out in an ELT classroom of a Foreign Language School of a large public university located in Central Mexico. The primary aims of this study were to explore the way in which English teachers could teach blind students without having training as well as to propose and design material to work with blind students. This research intended to find out if it was possible to integrate a blind adult into an English class and to identify the materials and activities that helped to integrate him into the class. The research data were collected via classroom observations, questionnaires and journal. It was important to observe two classes before the activities were applied in order to see how the environment was in that classroom, how the teacher’s and the other students’ attitude were towards Benjamin, our participant. The questionnaires were for Benjamin and the rest of the group, and a journal was written at the end of each class. The most relevant findings in this research were that almost all activities and materials worked efficaciously for our participant. It is important to mention that two activities had some weaknesses and limitations.”es_MX
