| dc.description.abstract | "Listening as a receptive and speaking as a productive skill are connected in a process in which learners have the ability to understand and produce a message in a communicative context. Communication is vital in every situation, and everyone needs to communicate. However, for English students, these skills tend to be more complicated than writing and reading due to different circumstances such as cultural differences, accent, quality of listening, inhibition, or mother tongue use. This study intends to demonstrate the strategies LEI students use at the Faculty of Languages to enhance their listening and speaking skills. The participants were 80: 38 women, 36 men, and 6 others. Their ages were between 17 to 28 years old. The results are that English students attempt to learn techniques to become better listeners, they pay attention and note down what is written on the blackboard, or another source teachers use in classes. Also, students focus on how the speaker pronounces to enhance their pronunciation and strive to learn from their mistakes when speaking, and they learn English when watching videos or TV". | |
