Abstract
"At this point, it is important to mention that at the Licenciatura en la Enseñanza del Inglés at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, the place where this research takes place, students need to develop a high standard of reading comprehension since they are exposed to different types of text and varied information in English. Besides, it has been observed some problems to accomplish an develop this competence, and thus, this research is important because on one hand, it is expected that once mind maps are applied by students, they could develop better understanding about what they read, and on the other hand, the results gotten could be used to take decisions about their viability to use them in order to promote not only reading but also comprehension and apprehension of what students’ read."
