dc.description.abstract“Reading strategies are part of the reading school life, where the students learn to read and the students read all the time, but we forget the importance of teach and learn reading strategies to understand diverse types of text and in many contexts of the life as the social media text messages, or the social media texts. This research’s participant were 56 students from the Language Faculty at BUAP. In age they ranged from 17 to 44 years old. The purpose of this investigation was to identify the use of reading strategies and their academic performance in the class of research seminary of Thesis I and II. The findings showed a poor use of reading strategies, so a considerable number of students do not know reading strategies, also the most used reading strategies was Problem solving strategies and Global strategies. For further research could be investigate in others school levels the use of reading strategies and investigate if teach it. Besides is necessary that teachers learn how to teach reading strategies, according to their school level and level of second language”.
