Abstract
“In this thesis, we analyse two versions of a model with three scalar doublets (3HDM) which offer a dark matter (DM) candidate. These versions are the two inert plus one Higgs doublet, the I(2+1)HDM, and the inert plus two Higgs doublet model, the I(1+2)HDM. The case is similar and its an extension to the model with two scalar doublets, the 2HDM, in where the version that includes a DM candidate is the Inert doublet Model (IDM). We investigate the phenomenology of the signatures that would become an evidence of a 3HDM Higgs sector and devise some benchmarks, compliant with collider and DM and cosmological data. For the I(1+2)HDM we show that with the measurement of the vertex H±W∓Z this model can be distinguished from the 2HDM. Since the dominant form factor FZ, of the H±W∓Z vertex can be enhanced by non-decoupling effects of extra scalar boson loop contributions. While for the I(2+1)HDM we claim that the loop induced decay of the next-to-lightest scalar, H2 → H1f ¯f (f = u; d; c; s; b; e; µ; τ ), mediated by both dark CP-odd and charged scalars, is a smoking-gun signal of the 3HDM since it is not allowed in the IDM”.
