Abstract
"In Mexico English language has been established as a subject in all public
secondary schools, where it is proposed “to raise the quality of education so that
students improve their level of educational achievement, have a means of accessing
to a better well-being and thus, contribute to the national development” (SEP, 2011)
but there is a great problem with students of these schools, most of them do not
understand when the teacher speaks or when they listen an English conversation or a
song, students have not yet developed the listening comprehension. If students do not
learn to listen effectively, they will be unable to take part in oral communication, this
happens because English language is not present in many of the social environments
of students and the school is quite often only a space where they have a chance to
learn a foreign language. The purpose of this research is seek for the listening comprehension strategies
most and least used by secondary learners. This analysis will be done in a public
school with students in third grade."
